Materials

  1. Sensory table
  2. Sand, water, birdseed, corks, cornstarch and water, dirt, Styrofoam pieces, whole walnuts in the shell, whole acorns in the shell, large buttons, large marbles, etc.

Instructions

  1. Each week or every other week fill your sensory table with one of the above materials.
  2. Allow three to four children to work at a time.
  3. Change the props every two weeks or so, as you wish.
  4. When no one is using the table, it is time for you to add something new!

More science: Additional ideas for the sand table: add some water to make wet sand, cups
and spoons, small containers, funnels, sifters, cars and trucks, plastic animals or dinosaurs, plastic
eggs, etc. Or add food coloring, bubbles, ice cubes, boats, rubber fish, cups and funnels,
