Materials

fruits containing pits (apricot, cherry, peach, plum)

fruits containing seeds (grape, pear, apple, watermelon)

plastic knives

spoons and forks

bowls

Instructions

1. Explain to the children that some fruits have pits and some have seeds.
Show the children the unopened fruits and ask them to guess whether
the fruit has a pit or seeds.
2. Cut open the fruits one by one. Show the insides of the fruits to the
children.
3. Remove the pits and seeds from the fruits.
4. Let children help cut up the fruits. Serve a fruit salad for snack.
