Instructions

1. Set out blue paper and several seashells, toy fish, and images of ocean objects.
2. Engage the children in a discussion about objects that come from the ocean,
about all the things that live in the ocean, and why it is important to care for
the ocean.
3. Invite the children to create, extend, and reproduce patterns using seashells,
fish, and ocean objects.

children to recreate the patterns and designs.

Consider the following:
* How well do the children recreate the patterns of the ocean creatures?
* Do the children understand the difference between what belongs in the
