Materials
- tagboard
- computer printer or marker
- pictures of various types of weather
- name card for each child in the class
- pocket chart
What to do
1. Talk about different types of weather with the children.
2. Create a graph by printing a header card with pictures of four different types of weather under the heading: "What is your favorite type of weather?"
3. Display it in the top row of a pocket chart.
4. Have each child, in turn, come forward and vote to show her preference by placing her name card under her choice.
5. Discuss the graph with the children and determine which type of weather they like best (snowy, windy, rainy, or sunny).
