Seasons change, our bodies naturally change with time, yet we resist the inevitability of change. Why does change challenge us? Perhaps the unknown scares us. Think of changes you see daily in the children as you celebrate their growth and development. Change provides opportunities for new perspectives, different ways of doing and being. The brain craves change to stimulate new thinking. Next time your path leads to a choice between complacency and change, choose change. Embrace it for what it offers, and celebrate your own growth and development.

Leanne was the director of professional development at Hildebrandt Learning Centers and a lifelong advocate for early childhood education. She inspired the early childhood community to prepare children as lifelong learners with her ability to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. One person can make a difference, and Leanne did just that. She will be sorely missed.
