Instructions
1. Place the box flat on a table and cut off one of the long sides so that a child
can reach inside.
2. Cover one large, flat side of the box with construction paper. Use markers to
draw a street scene. Make roads, buildings, street signs, and so on.
3. Cover the scene with clear contact paper.
4. Cut three pieces of paper into 3" x 1" rectangles.
5. Crease the paper so that one side is 2" long and the other side is 1" long.
6. Draw a vehicle on the side that is 2" long.
7. Put a paper clip on the 1" side. Fold the paper in the crease so that the paper
clip can rest on the box and the vehicle stands up perpendicular to the box.
8. Encourage the children to move the vehicles across the street scene on the
box by holding the magnet wand inside the box and moving it across the top
of the box. The paper clip on the vehicle will move along with the magnet
wand and the children will be able to move the vehicles around the roads on
the box.
