Multicultural paints

Small disposable cups

Cotton Swabs

Scissors

White paper

Markers

Hair-colored yarn, short pieces

Glue

Instructions

1. Read All the Colors We Are by Katie Kissinger.

2. Talk with the children about similarities and differences among people.

3. Set out multicultural paints in small disposable cups.

4. Give each child a sheet of white paper and invite them to draw the outline of a head and shoulders.

5. Allow children to mix paints in a separate cup to create any skin tone they wish.

6. Encourage the children to paint their pictures using the multicultural paint.

7. They can add faces using markers and glue on yarn as hair.

8. After the faces dry, hang them on a bulletin board or wall to create the display "Our RainbowColors."
