- Set up your area to resemble a restaurant. Add the materials from the above list.
- Introduce the children to words such as "menu," "order," "cook," "waitress," "waiter," and "tips."
- Sit in the "restaurant" and let the children serve you. Take turns and wait on them as well.
Instructions
1. Read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to the children. Tell them that they are
going to make a class caterpillar.
2. Help the children cut or tear tissue paper into small pieces.
3. Ask the children to glue tissue paper to a paper plate. As each child's
creation dries, add it to make a giant caterpillar on the classroom wall.
4. Create the head of the caterpillar by adding eyes, mouth, and antennae
to a paper plate.
