Materials
- biodegradable packing peanuts
- squirt bottles filled with colored water
- large tub or sensory table
Instructions
- Place biodegradable packing peanuts in a large tub or sensory table. Place squirt bottles filled with colored water nearby.
- Encourage the children to squirt the peanuts. When the peanuts get wet, they will dissolve slightly and stick to other peanuts.
- Encourage the children to make their own "peanut creations." Allow the creations to dry and display them in the room.
Instructions
1. Set up the learning center as a gas station.
2. Explain to the children that this area is the part of the gas station where cars
are fixed or repaired.
3. To demonstrate, give a child one of the smaller items and ask him to find the
matching tool. For example, give a child a nail, and he should find a hammer.
Give a child a bolt, and he might find a wrench.
4. Let the children explore and match independently.
