Instructions

1. Using brown felt cut
out a tree showing
the trunk, branches,
and roots.
2. Draw the roots
using a black
marker.
3. Cut out the crown
of the tree using
green felt.
4. During circle time, use the flannel
board to tell a story about how a tree
grows. Incorporate the parts of the
tree (roots, trunk, branches, and
crown) and what it needs to grow
(soil, water, sunlight).
5. After circle time, leave the felt pieces and the flannel board out so the
children can reconstruct the tree and retell the story on their own.
