Starting Point for Child Care and Early Education is a Cleveland-based nonprofit agency with a long history of innovative initiatives. In 2010, Starting Point began its Boys’ Project to address the unique issues surrounding boys three to six years old, prompted by data on the disproportionate numbers of boys with social-emotional behavioral issues and learning challenges and concerns, particularly in the African-American and Hispanic and Latino communities.
