Rafael Lara-Alecio, PhD, is an experienced early childhood, elementary, and secondary school bilingual teacher. He is currently Professor and Co-director of the Center for Research and Development in Dual Language and Literacy Acquisition in the Department of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University. His primary areas of expertise in bilingual education include assessment/evaluation, methodologies, bi-literacy, and parental involvement. He has an extensive background in mathematics and science education and has been widely published.
