Janis Strasser, Ed.D., taught preschool, kindergarten, and primary grades for more than 20 years. She is currently a professor of early childhood education at William Paterson University. She coordinates the master's degree program in early childhood and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in diversity, observation and assessment, play and creativity, children's literature and the arts, and research. She is also a member of the Early Learning Improvement Consortium in New Jersey. For the many years, she has been a consulting editor for Young Children, published by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
