David A. Winnett spent ten years teaching chemistry and physics in the Illinois public schools, followed by 25 years preparing teachers to teach science. He has won many awards, including the Illinois Science Teachers Association Achievement Award, and he has been the President of the Illinois Science Teachers Association, as well as Program Director for National Science Teachers Association. Winnett lives in Willow Creek, California.
