What to do
April is National Umbrella Month.
1. Cut paper into umbrella shapes.
2. Provide each child with an umbrella shape. Offer a choice of four to six different colors of crayons and let the children choose one color to color their umbrellas.
3. Use a roll of 1/2 " masking tape to make a graph on the floor or area rug. Make one column for each color, and place a color square for each color in the top grid.
4. Have the children join you on the floor around the graph with their umbrellas. One at a time, have them add their umbrellas under the proper columns and then tally up each column.
5. Discuss which colors had the most, least, same, and other observations.
