Materials
- small mirror
- sunlight or flashlight
What to do
1. When you want to get the attention of the children so that you can move on to another activity, or if you just need to hold their attention, aim a small hand-held mirror at the window or a flashlight until it makes a "gleamy spot" (a small bright light).
2. Wiggle and wave it around and make the spot dance on the wall, ceiling, or floor. Sing "This Little Light of Mine."
3. Chances are, the spot will mesmerize the children. While you have their attention, explain what is going to happen next
