Instructions
- When doing a restaurant theme, bring a group of children together. Talk about what happens when they go out to eat at a restaurant. Steer the children's conversation toward menus.
- Talk about the classroom restaurant (in the dramatic play area). Ask them if they should make a menu.
- Help the children make menus and add them to the area. Let them illustrate the foods and add prices.
Instructions
1. Beforehand, use a paper cutter to cut 2" x 18" paper strips for the headband.
2. Use the illustration below to make a pattern for the goat head and the goat
beard out of cardboard. Trace the head pattern on white paper and cut out.
3. Lightly color the goat face brown except for the bridge of the nose, horns,
and ears.
4. Draw brown lines as ridges on the horns. Draw a black nose and mouth, and
add eyelashes to the eyes.
5. Trace the beard pattern on brown paper. Cut it into fringes and glue it on the
goat chin.
6. Cut slits at the eyes so the children can cut out the circles.
7. Staple the headband strip to the mask behind the crown of the goat's head,
and measure the headband to the child's head and staple again.
More to do Stories: Cut out felt figures of the characters from the "Three Billy Goats Gruff."
