  1. Discuss fingerprints and their unique designs for each person. Explain what the word whorl means.
  2. Provide magnifying glasses for the children to examine their own fingerprints and the fingerprints of friends.
  3. Introduce the children to the following rhyme and practice counting to five.

Five Little Fingerprints
Five little fingerprints on each hand,
Like no other in the land.
Lines and whorls: they're all my own,
They belong to me alone.
